THE SPECIAL GUARANTEE FUND SIGNED A COOPERATION AGREEMENT ON MEDICAL SERVICES IN GOLDEN HOURS WITH KANOMBE MILITARY HOSPITAL

On 3rd September 2015, the Special Guarantee Fund (SGF) concluded a cooperation agreement with Kanombe Military Hospital (KMH) which will run for a period of two years renewable whereby the agreement was done on mutual understanding by both contracting parties.

Basically, the agreement hinged on Medical Services in Golden Hours (MSGH) the medical services to economically vulnerable victims of both road accidents and victims of wild animals’ in the first hours after accident while waiting for identifying the insurer to cover the cost ..  This agreement comes into place to fulfill one of SGF mission which is to help in covering medical expenses for people injured or incapacitated by accidents caused by automobiles (uninsured, non identified or stolen) or gazetted wild animals (living in national parks or in any other protected area) while waiting for the person responsible for civil liability to be identified.

The signing of this cooperation agreement with Kanombe Military Hospital has been long comes after similar arrangements with Kigali Central University Teaching Hospital (CHUK) and Gatagara Hospital and the SGF intends to continue progressively expanding the MSGH to other hospitals as the financial capacity to support the subsequent cost will increase.
