Police and Kepler Shine at National Heroes Day Volleyball Tournament
Kigali, February 1, 2026 the spirit of sports and patriotism was on full display as the Police team clinched the women’s title, and Kepler took home the men’s trophy at the National Heroes Day volleyball tournament finals.
The event, organized by the Chancellery of Heroes, National Orders, and Decorations of Honor (CHENO) in partnership with the Rwanda Volleyball Federation (FRVB) and the Special Guarantee Fund (SGF), brought together eight women’s teams and eight men’s teams at the Petit Stade de Remera. The tournament kicked off on January 31, 2026, showcasing talent, teamwork, and determination.
Mr. Nkusi Deo, Executive Secretary of CHENO, congratulated all teams for their outstanding performance and presented the trophies to the winners. He emphasized that the tournament not only celebrates national heroes but also encourages fair play, unity, and the spirit of teamwork.
The Special Guarantee Fund played a key role in supporting the tournament, reinforcing its commitment to national initiatives while highlighting the services it offers to the community. By partnering with the FRVB and participating actively in the celebrations, SGF strengthened its presence and connection with the public in a fun and meaningful way.
