SGF Strengthens capacity in road traffic accident investigation

In line with its mandate to protect and compensate victims of road traffic accidents, the Special Guarantee Fund (SGF) in partnership with Rwanda national police conducted a specialized training on road traffic management and accident investigation from 1st to 12th December at SGF’s office. The training was designed to enhance the technical and professional capacity of SGF staff involved in accident assessment and claims management.

The program combined theoretical sessions at SGF offices with practical field exercises at real accident scenes. Participants were trained in accident investigation procedures, accident scene protection, evidence collection and preservation, sketch plan preparation, and professional witness interviewing. The training also strengthened participants’ understanding of Rwanda’s legal and insurance frameworks governing motor vehicle accidents.

Through this initiative, SGF reaffirmed its commitment to accurate accident assessment, timely compensation, and accident prevention, as provided under Presidential Order No. 054/01 of 02/08/2023 governing the Special Guarantee Fund. The skills acquired will enhance cooperation with the Rwanda National Police and other stakeholders, contributing to improved road safety and public confidence in accident compensation mechanisms.
