On 8th January 2026, the Special Guarantee Fund (SGF) hosted Mr. Bizimana Dominique, the newly elected President of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC), to discuss ways of strengthening their partnership and enhancing SGF’s visibility during sitting volleyball tournaments.

Madame Florence Nibakure, SGF’s acting director general warmly welcomed the new NPC committee, wished them success, and reaffirmed SGF’s commitment to smooth collaboration. She encouraged the committee to continue motivating people with disabilities to advocate for their well-being and to recognize the meaningful contributions they bring to society. SGF also pledged ongoing support for the socio-economic empowerment of people with disabilities, including sponsoring sitting volleyball tournaments.

In response, Mr. Bizimana  thanked SGF for its continued support and committed to promoting SGF’s visibility during sitting volleyball tournaments. He also assured that the NPC would honor all obligations outlined in the memorandum of understanding between the two organizations.

This meeting marks a renewed commitment to collaboration and shared goals, highlighting SGF’s dedication to empowering people with disabilities through sports and community engagement.
